Diary of a Mom Blogger: Attending My First Conference

Dear Readers,

Later this week I will be attending the BlissDom Canada conference in downtown Toronto and I’m very excited! This will be my first time attending a conference for bloggers, content creators, and social media influencers. I decided to attend this conference because I have dreams and goals as a blogger and a writer that I’m striving to achieve. The past several months has been a soul-searching journey for me, in which I have been exploring different possibilities and opportunities for myself. I’m very much looking forward to meeting some incredibly talented people whose blogs and social media I’ve been following, and listening to guest speakers that have a wealth of information to share. This truly is going to be a useful learning experience for me.

I have to admit that I’m a little nervous because I have no idea what to expect from this three-day adventure. Will I make a good impression on the other people attending, and to the brands and businesses, I may have a chance to connect with? Will I have anything to offer others, being still relatively new to the blogging scene? I’m curious to get input about my blog from other people. There are definitely aspects of my blog that I’m proud of, however, it’s always good to have another set of eyes look it over. I’m enthusiastically anxious to learn new tips and gather inspiration and information that can help me grow as a blogger and content creator.

And then there’s this feeling of intimidation. This is going to come off a bit fan-girlish but there are people attending this conference that I greatly admire and respect their work, and I’m slightly in awe of the fact that I will be in the same room as them and have a chance to meet and interact with them. I kinda feel like my blog is in amateur territory compared to theirs, and I hope one day to be at their level (or at least close to it). I started this blog in 2016 as a hobby, but it has developed into a great passion of mine and in the past several months I’ve really been interested in challenging myself as a blogger, and seeing where I can take Mama@Heart. Perhaps attending this conference will help me continue on that path.

I hope you will join me on this journey. Check out my social media later this week as I will try to share as much as I can while I attend the conference. And then next week I will post another diary entry to share with you what my experience at BlissDom was like.

As always, thank you for your love and support!
